No my title for this post does not mean I am pregnant, but we are gaining a new member of our "family."
Yes, in a few short weeks we will gain a new car. Remember how K borrowed his grandpa's car while Big Gray was getting fixed? On Saturday he went to New Jersey to bring it back and pick-up Big Gray so he could have it down here avilable to trade it when he finds something else...and his grandpa told him he could have his car! Then K found out today that he is going to give him the car...as in for free.
I am so glad he won't have to take on a car payment while putting himself through law school. His parents don't give him much financial support and we are both so greatful his grandpa is able to help him out in such an awesome way. Thanks "PaPa"!
Hopefully this will be the end of the car drama for a while...now the new car just needs a name!

Oh the real world...
It's days like these where I wish I could rewind my life and go back to elementary school. Back where being an adult seemed cool and problems were small.
I have just spent the past hour or so talking to my best friend, E. Sad to say she is one of the unemployed people making up the rapidly growing statistics you hear about on the news. She got laid off a couple of months ago from a job she loved. It sucks. Now is not the time to be looking for a job. I just wish there was more I could do to help her but all I can do is be there when she needs to vent. I invited her to come up this weekend just to get away for everything so hopefully she will.
We are also dealing with car drama. Last year when K was living at home his best friend's dad gave him this old car he had gotten for free. It looked like a short limo and had red velour seats but it was pretty reliable. I called it Big Gray. Recently it has been needing more maintenance and I have been trying to convince him to stop putting money into it, however he said he wanted to drive it into the ground. Well that happened this past weekend, while he was in New Jersey. So he borrowed his grandpa's extra car to get home and is going to have Big Gray fixed so he can bring it down here and trade in for a new car. We knew this would happen sooner or later but it still is a pain...we need to find him something reasonably priced and that won't give him trouble. He has a lot on his plate with working and putting himself through school he needs to not have to worry about a car, even if it means taking on a car payment and thus making a tight money situation even tighter.
It's hard being in the real world.
