Way Back When

K and I decided that it would be probably best if I stayed home again (yes it is soooo upsetting for me to miss work) with Hanna again today, we are worried about her getting into her stitches. So I am chilling in the house watching TV and guess what is on....

"Surviving Sextuplets and Twins!"

The original Jon and Kat Plus 8 special...back when they were poor and in love, when Kate had brown, non-spiky hair, when Jon didn't wear Ed Hardy or diamond studs. It's also before Kate got the free tummy tuck from Jon's current girlfriend's father. Very strange.

By the way...wait until Halloween, K and I are planning awesome costumes! I bet you can guess what or should I say who...we are going to be.

Jon's on the prowl

Hope you all had fab weekends! Mine was very relaxing other then stopping my brother from having a party at my parents house on Friday night. Bruno was really funny but don't see it if you are uncomfortable with full frontal male nudity and some crude humor. Personally I thought it was hilarious, but it definitely isn't for everyone. I have a sick sense of humor.

Here is something that almost made me vomit over the weekend...

Seriously Jon...seriously? Any respect or sympathy I had for him is now completely gone.

I'm doing it again...

Back in May, I explained why I had never posted about the Gosslin family before, and I really thought I wouldn't blog about them again because I feel bad about how much they are getting talked about.

But...I can't resist after last night's episode. Funny thing real quick...K got home right before it was about to come on and I told him I had seen on the internet they had filed for divorce so obviously that was going to be the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. As if we all couldn't see it coming. Anyways, K said "they are also going to announce that the new show is going to be called 'Jon Plus 4 and Kate Plus 4'" What if the actually did that?...it would be exactly like "The Parent Trap." Which I always thought was very weird, who has ever heard of a divorced couple splitting the kids evenly then taking half each? Funny idea though, Jon would probably take the boys and Cara, since Kate has said before that she thinks boys are yucky.

Ok that was a random tangent...back to Jon and Kate. Having watched the show since the beginning and feeling almost like I know the Gosslins hearing that they are divorcing makes me very sad. Divorce is always sad, but when children are involved it is even worse.

However, it seems like Jon just wants out, it made me sick that he was all "I'm only 32" and that he now drives a sports car, has two diamond earrings (is the double earring look on men even cool anymore? was it ever?), dresses in all Ed Hardy and apparently is moving into the Trump Tower. Grow up Jon. I know Kate acted like a bitch but she genuinely seems heartbroken...and he seems like he wants to start the party. If he wanted to stop her from walking all over him he should have started earlier and communicated, rather then getting a girlfriend (which after last night I think that whole thing is probably true.)

What I can't wrap my mind around is why they wouldn't stop the show and focus on making their marriage work. Maybe getting some counseling? Wouldn't THAT be the best thing for their children? Maybe the marriage has deteriorated too much to be saved, but I get the impression they are giving up. The whole vow renewal in Maui "so their kids would know their parents would always be together" thing was not all that long ago. Was that just a ploy for a free vacation and a chance for TLC to cross promote "Say Yes to the Dress?" Sad.

The only people this isn't sad for are the folks at the Crooked Playhouse company (which are adorable by the way but probably crazy expensive.) They got extremely lucky with the placement of their episode. Someone at TLC better be getting a nice fruit basket this morning. The Crooked Playhouse site is actually down because of too much volume.

It's Actually Just So Sad

I have to admit I have never blogged about this show before because it seems to hit on nerves, but I have always been a fan. The show is "Jon and Kate Plus 8." I started watching the family's hour long specials and like so many just loved the adorable kids, naturally when the show started I watched that too.

Do I think Kate can be annoying? Yes. Would I be annoying too if I had 8 kids? Probably. Do I think they have probably semi "used" the fact that they have sextuplets to get free things? Yes. Might I do the same thing if I knew I had to support 8 kids and companies were throwing things at me? Probably.

So this has always been my love/hate/justification/thoughts about the Gosslin family. It's weird and hard to put into words. Another reason why I haven't blogged about them. But I must say I think this whole drama surrounding them is sad. No one is going to know the truth about the details of their marriage and it's really not our business...regardless of the fact that they are on TV; I just don't think they deserve it.

Of course I watched the season premier last night, and I almost cried. It is horrible to see how much their family has changed and how they were acting toward each other, I found it awkward and painful to literally watch the collapse of a marriage...but my nosey side wants to see what happens. Divorce sucks (not that we know it is has come to that yet) especially when a child is involved...let alone eight.

What do you all think of "Jon and Kate Plus 8"? Did you watch it last night?
