It's Actually Just So Sad

I have to admit I have never blogged about this show before because it seems to hit on nerves, but I have always been a fan. The show is "Jon and Kate Plus 8." I started watching the family's hour long specials and like so many just loved the adorable kids, naturally when the show started I watched that too.

Do I think Kate can be annoying? Yes. Would I be annoying too if I had 8 kids? Probably. Do I think they have probably semi "used" the fact that they have sextuplets to get free things? Yes. Might I do the same thing if I knew I had to support 8 kids and companies were throwing things at me? Probably.

So this has always been my love/hate/justification/thoughts about the Gosslin family. It's weird and hard to put into words. Another reason why I haven't blogged about them. But I must say I think this whole drama surrounding them is sad. No one is going to know the truth about the details of their marriage and it's really not our business...regardless of the fact that they are on TV; I just don't think they deserve it.

Of course I watched the season premier last night, and I almost cried. It is horrible to see how much their family has changed and how they were acting toward each other, I found it awkward and painful to literally watch the collapse of a marriage...but my nosey side wants to see what happens. Divorce sucks (not that we know it is has come to that yet) especially when a child is involved...let alone eight.

What do you all think of "Jon and Kate Plus 8"? Did you watch it last night?

Ok, I totally agree with you on this one too!!!! I am a new watcher of this show last season and was hooked immediately. I too feel like how can I judge a woman with 8 kids, when I myself snap at my husband sometimes and we only have 1 kid! I have not watched the new show yet, gonna get to that tonight. I hate they are going through rough times and hope the media is making it out to be more than it is, and they can work their issues out. Cause God knows, every marriage has issues, whether we admit to it or not!

I agree with your thoughts/feelings about the show and the family!

I watched the season premiere and my main thought was that Kate was acting really fake (maybe to cover up how hurt/upset she is??) but I thought it was a little absurd how she seemed obsessed with the paparazzi. I felt like she was constantly bringing them up, or pointing them out, it seemed kind of un-necessary. I'm interested to see where the show and the family goes from here though!

I haven't watched the show much, but I have been sort of following all of this drama going on. They seem like nice people, but Kate also seem to be milking this scandal for publicity (Cover story in People Magazine, etc).

I agree that if I was in the same position, I would probably accept free things and get frustrated easily, and you never know how they edit people on reality tv to make them appear a certain way. You kind of have to wish that they could more gracefully bow out of the spotlight to deal with their marital problems. It seems like everyone has a strong opinion about them these days!

I so agree with you guys, Kate does milk things I think but then I wonder how much is actually her and how much is TLC and the tabloids "spinning" things. I so wish celebrities (which like it or not they are now) knew how to bow out when they are having personal problems!
