For now let's take a break from all my jabber about life changes and my job (there will be lots more to come) and focus on something totally different...vacation!
I am leaving for the beach on Saturday and since I read pretty fast, and all day when I am at the beach, I need to make a pilgrimage to Barnes and Noble to stock up.
So here is where I need your advice...any books or authors I should check out? I like a lot of different kinds of books especially historical fiction, scary stuff and chick-lit (as long as it isn't completely vapid) but nothing too deep for beach reading, please..save that for the winter!
What should I buy?

I just finished up a few books by T.C. Boyle and John Irving, who I highly recommend as authors!
I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I have read some great books this summer: The Book Thief was probably one of the best. I also read Diary of a South Beach Party Girl which is based on a true story and suprisingly NOT vapid a bit. Liars Club my Mary Karr is dark but really great.
I just finished "The Help" as well, and really loved it! Another great book is "Special Topics in Calamity Physics" and my personal favorite, although a bit intense for a beach trip, "The Historian"!!
I got one for sure - Snowflower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. Feel good story meets crazy ass Chinese footbinding. Couldn't put it down.
Are you there Vodka, it's me Chelsea? is hilarious. Anything by Jen Lancaster will crack you up as well. Schooled is good too. Just some suggestions!
I'm a huge Jennifer Weiner fan, her newest just came out and I'm going to head and buy it here soon. She never disappoints.
