I'm not a quitter.
In fact, I don't think I have ever quit anything in my life. All of the jobs and internships I have had sort of just came to an end either due to me leaving (to go back to college or go to college) or it was something that only had a set time frame. I never quit any clubs or extracurricular activities either, whenever I would stop, it would always be natural and on good terms. I never even dropped a class in college.
But I will be quitting my job, at the company I have worked with since I graduated college almost three years ago, in a matter of weeks. It's so strange to think about. I'm super excited and happy (which is kind of weird...yay! I'm happy I will have no money coming in!) but I have no idea how to tell my boss.
I have kept my plans very secret so I think this will come as a big surprise to her. While I don't know the exact date I will need to tell her pretty soon to allow two weeks. School starts in June but I am taking some time off before I start to get things in order and also because I will be going out of town for a couple graduations.
I'm going to draft a letter but I don't know if I should just email her the letter or ask to meet with her and give it to her? I don't want to be rude but I also don't want to get into tons of conversations with people about why I am leaving...I'm sure many people I work with will be critical and dealing with it is annoying. Or maybe I am completely wrong.
What do you think? Has anyone ever quit a "grown up" job? How did you do it?

to buy or not to buy...that is the question

Jack Rogers Navajo Sandals. What are your thoughts?
I don't consider myself to be very preppy or anything but I feel like I like the "dress them up or down, wear with anything quality" that they have. Specifically the platinum colored ones (seen above.)
I have a $50 amazon gift card left over from Christmas so I could buy them there for essentially half off. But, I'm not sure if even at half off they are worth it. I have been really not shopping recently and I think they last a long time, right? But would it be better to just use my gift card for something practical? And put my $45 towards my new computer? It's a dilemma.
Are they worth spending $45 bucks on? Are they too preppy?
(all this is also hinging on me trying them on somewhere and seeing how they look/fit too)

make me over

Just imagine that I am Tai and you are Cher, then give me some advice on makeovers. Blog makeovers specifically.
Now that I have been blogging for a year and have gotten to 60 followers (woot! love you followers! you make me feel special!) I want to invest in a fancy-schmancy custom blog design. I've tried to do this myself before but I am clueless (pun intended) so now I just want to pay someone. Not too much of course.
A lot of you have sweet layouts/blog designs so please, please, please hook me up with your recommendations on who I could use. There are a lot of designers out there but I want someone who is good and easy to work with. Also if you are a blog designer (not sure if that is the right term but I am going to go with it) and would be interested let me know!
Leave a comment or email me: curiosity.cee@gmail.com
Thanks!

Quest for Black Flats
First of all, thanks so much for all of the super sweet comments on my last 3 posts. I feel so lucky to have such awesome and supportive bloggy friends.
Since you are so awesome, I need your help. I am in desperate need of new black flats. Mine are currently completely falling apart and I am scared someone is going to think I am a hobo. Do hobos still exist? Because, if they do I need to join their merry band, as last week I had to tape a pair of Micheal Kors moccasins together when they fell apart at work. Time for some shoe shopping I know...but I am trying not to spend money so I am limiting to things I really need...and black flats fit into the category.
Anyways, my current pair are Steve Madden and I got them about a year ago. They started falling apart very quickly but it only now has become noticeable.
Here are my requirements: basic (they can have some embellishment but nothing too wacky as I wear them mostly to work), not completely flat to the ground (a la ballet shoes...my feet will start to hurt), and under $40.
Any ideas?

These would be nice...
If I had an extra $455 laying around to spend on..black flats.
Oh wait, even if I had that there is no way I would spend it on black flats.

Beach Books
For now let's take a break from all my jabber about life changes and my job (there will be lots more to come) and focus on something totally different...vacation!
I am leaving for the beach on Saturday and since I read pretty fast, and all day when I am at the beach, I need to make a pilgrimage to Barnes and Noble to stock up.
So here is where I need your advice...any books or authors I should check out? I like a lot of different kinds of books especially historical fiction, scary stuff and chick-lit (as long as it isn't completely vapid) but nothing too deep for beach reading, please..save that for the winter!
What should I buy?

Puppy Breath: Advice Needed!
Hanna has started getting in her adult teeth but her baby teeth don't really seem to be falling out so they are starting to rot and her mouth looks pretty gross and crowded. When I can get a look at her mouth that is...she has always been a little weird about letting me look at her teeth but since she started teething it has gotten even worse. K and I have been working on trying to get her more comfortable with us touching her mouth but she has a long way to go.
Anyways, I know shih tzu's can have teeth issues, so it will most likely take a long time before all the baby teeth come out. We give her a lot of chew toys and even freeze some so she doesn't seem to be in much pain but her breath is sooooo disgusting right now! Seriously...it smells like a sewer. It's nothing like regular dog breath at all.
I saw online that rotting baby teeth can cause this, but do any of you dog owners have any advice on how to make her breath smell better? Or any other teething tips?
Thanks in advance!
